Terms of Service.

These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Specced ( specced.app) when you use the service. Using Specced means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

2. What the service does
Specced takes photos of a car that you upload and generates images showing that car in a different paint colour or wrap finish, using an AI image model. You get the generated images back and can download or share them.
The renders are illustrations, not colour matches. An AI model approximates how a colour might look on your car. It is not a paint sample, not a quotation, and not a promise of what a real respray or wrap will look like. Do not order paint, commission work, or make a purchase decision on the strength of a render alone. Colours vary with lighting, panel, material, and the shop doing the work.
The service is in beta and is provided as is. Features can change or disappear, renders can fail, and the queue can be slow or unavailable. We do not promise any particular uptime, render quality, or turnaround time.
3. Your account
You can use Specced without an account. Signing up is by email link — there is no password. Anyone who can read your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure. Tell us at privacy@specced.app if you think someone else has reached your account.
Without an account, your garage is tied to a cookie in this browser. Clear it, switch device, or leave it idle too long and the garage is gone — see the privacy policy for exactly how long that is.
4. Free renders and credits
- Every user gets a free daily allowance of renders. The current number is shown in the app; we can change it, including downward, as capacity demands.
- Credits are prepaid render capacity, bought in packs. One credit is spent per render. Paid renders are dispatched ahead of free ones.
- Credits do not expire during the beta. If that ever changes we will say so before it applies to credits you already hold.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money.
- If a render fails because of a fault on our side, the credit or free render is returned to your balance automatically.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in euros, inclusive of any applicable tax, at the point of purchase. The operator currently trades under the French VAT exemption for small businesses, so no VAT is charged or recoverable (TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI).
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. Stripe may apply its own terms and checks to the transaction.
6. Right of withdrawal
Credits are digital content supplied immediately. Under Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, when you buy a credit pack you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal once the credits are on your account. You confirm this at checkout.
This waiver covers credits you have already spent. If something is genuinely broken on our side, write to privacy@specced.app — we would rather refund unspent credits than argue about it. Your statutory rights for a service that does not conform are unaffected by anything in these terms.
7. What you may upload
You are responsible for every photo you upload. By uploading it you confirm:
- It is your photo, or you have permission to use it.
- It shows a vehicle. Specced is for cars — it is not a general image editor.
- It contains nothing unlawful, and nothing sexual, hateful, harassing, or depicting a person who has not agreed to be there.
- You are not using it to impersonate someone, to mislead about a vehicle's real condition (for example, in a sale listing), or to infringe anyone's rights.
We can remove content, refuse renders, rate-limit, or close an account that breaks these rules or that is abusing the service's capacity. For anything clearly unlawful we may act without notice.
8. Who owns what
You keep the rights to the photos you upload. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your photo, process it — including sending it to the GPU providers listed in the privacy policy — and show the result back to you. That permission ends when the content is deleted.
The renders are yours to use, including commercially. We ask only that you do not present them as photographs of a real vehicle finish.
If you create a public share link, the before/after images on it become accessible to anyone holding the link, for as long as the link exists. That is the point of the feature, but it is worth being deliberate about: check the photo for number plates, faces and locations before you share it.
The Specced name, design, and software remain ours.
9. Liability
We provide Specced in good faith but without warranty. To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service — in particular from decisions made on the basis of a render.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law. Where we are liable, our total liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Ending it
You can stop using Specced whenever you like, and delete your account and data from the account panel or by writing to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks section 7, and may withdraw the service entirely — if we do, we will give reasonable notice and refund unspent credits.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version. For changes that materially affect you — pricing, credit expiry, how your data is used — we will notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Please write to privacy@specced.app first — most things are a misunderstanding and get fixed in one email. If that fails, EU consumers can use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
