Is Specced free?

Yes — you get free renders every day with no account required, and daily quota resets at midnight (Europe/Paris). Sharing a result publicly earns you a few extra renders that day too. How do credits work — do they expire?

Credits are a running balance: buying a pack adds to it, each paid render subtracts one. They don't expire or reset — unlike the free daily quota, a credit you bought last month is still there. Credit-funded renders also skip the free queue and get priority processing, which matters most at busy times. Credits are tied to your account, so you'll want to be signed in before buying a pack.

What photos give the best results?

A clear, well-lit photo of the whole car from a ¾ angle, with the body panels visible and not heavily obstructed by other cars, people, or harsh shadows, works best. Daylight beats a dark garage or a photo shot straight into the sun. You can upload multiple angles of the same car and apply a colour to all of them — that's the closest thing to a full walk-around preview.

Are my photos private? What happens to them?

We store the photos you upload and the renders made from them to run the service — we don't sell your data, run ads, or send marketing email. If you never create an account, everything is deleted automatically after 30 days without activity. If you sign in, your garage and renders stay linked to your account until you delete it. Can I remove the watermark?

Renders and exports carry a small Specced watermark by default. It comes off once you're signed in and have made at least one paid purchase (a credit pack) — from that point every export you make is watermark-free, not just the ones from that purchase. Anonymous exports always keep the watermark.

Will my car really look like this?

It's an honest preview, not a guarantee of the exact real-world paint match. The AI renders a photoreal impression of the colour and finish on your car's actual shape and lighting in that photo, which is a far better gut-check than a swatch or a chart — but real paint under different lighting, and the skill of whoever applies it, will always shift the final result slightly. Use it to shortlist colours with confidence, then confirm the exact shade with your installer.

How do I share a result?

Every render has a share button that creates a public before/after page at its own permalink — send the link or post it directly, no account needed to view it. For social, you can also build a slideshow export (your photo, then one slide per colour you tried) sized for TikTok/IG, shared straight from your phone or downloaded as a zip on desktop. Sharing publicly also earns you extra free renders that day.

How much does it cost to wrap a car?

A full wrap typically runs €1,500–€4,500, depending on the size of the car, the film (cast vinyl vs premium/chrome finishes), and the installer's rates. Smaller hatchbacks sit at the low end; large SUVs and premium films push it higher. Partial wraps (roof, bonnet, accents) cost a fraction of that. Before you commit to a shop quote, it helps to see the colour on your actual car first — upload a photo and preview it free.

Is wrapping or respraying cheaper?

Wrapping is usually cheaper than a quality respray, and it's reversible — a full wrap runs roughly €1,500–€4,500, while a proper respray (colour-matched, multiple coats, clear coat) starts around €2,000 and can exceed €8,000 for premium paint or a full strip-down. Cheap respray jobs exist below that but tend to show it. Wrap wins on cost and flexibility; respray wins if you want the colour to be permanent and under the factory clear coat.

How long does a car wrap last?

A quality cast vinyl wrap, properly installed and maintained, typically lasts 5–7 years. Cheaper calendared vinyl or budget installs can start fading, lifting at edges, or shrinking within 2–3 years. Harsh sun, frequent automated car washes, and poor surface prep before install all shorten the lifespan. Garaging the car and hand-washing it will get you toward the upper end of that range.

Does wrapping damage the paint?

No — on healthy factory (OEM) paint, a professionally installed and removed wrap doesn't damage the clear coat, and it actually protects the paint underneath from UV and minor scuffs while it's on. The risk is on the other end: wrapping over paint that's already peeling, has a bad aftermarket respray, or has a compromised clear coat can pull that paint off when the wrap is removed. A reputable installer will check the paint condition before quoting.

Can you wrap a leased car?

Yes — a wrap is fully reversible, which is exactly why it suits a leased or financed car where a permanent respray isn't an option. It needs to come off (by a professional, to avoid paint damage) before the car goes back, so budget for removal as well as install. Check your specific lease terms first: some leasing companies restrict colour changes or require written notice, even for a temporary wrap.

Matte vs gloss vs satin — what's the difference on a real car?

Gloss reflects light like factory paint — sharp reflections, deep colour, easiest to keep clean. Matte kills reflections almost entirely for a flat, chalky look; it shows fingerprints and swirl marks more easily and needs specific matte-safe care products. Satin sits between the two — a soft sheen with some reflection but not the mirror finish of gloss. The difference is much easier to judge on your own car's shape than on a sample swatch — Specced lets you preview all three finishes on your actual photos.

PPF vs wrap — which do I need?

They solve different problems. PPF (paint protection film) is usually clear or lightly tinted and exists to protect the factory paint from chips and scratches — it doesn't change the car's colour. A colour wrap is about changing the look, using an opaque or tinted film. Plenty of owners run both: PPF on high-impact areas like the front bumper and bonnet, plus a colour wrap over the rest of the car.
